University Professor of TECHNOLOGY, MOBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY LAW – Euregio Endowed Professorship

The University of Innsbruck invites applications for the position of

University Professor of TECHNOLOGY, MOBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY LAW – Euregio Endowed Professorship

at the Department of Legal Theory and Future of Law at the Faculty of Law.

It is a position in accordance with § 99 (1) of the Austrian Universities’ Act (Universitätsgesetz - UG 2002) and will be based on a civil-law employment contract with the University on the basis of the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz). The contract will be concluded for a period of three years; the extent of employment is 100%.

The chair-holder will represent the interdisciplinary subjects “technology, mobility and sustainability law” both in research and teaching.

She/he will conduct research on core legal questions of technology (including the law of digital innovation), mobility of people, services and goods and sustainability (in particular in the sensitive Alpine region), with a particular focus on the European Region Tyrol-South Tyrol- Trentino. She/he will collaborate closely with the existing departments of the Faculty of Law and deliver excellent research results that complement the ongoing research at the Faculty of Law. She/he is also expected to participate actively in the Faculty of Law’s research centers.

The chair-holder will provide teaching for the degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Law, namely the Diploma Programme in Law, the Integrated Diploma Programme in Law (Italian Law), the Bachelor’s Programme in Business Law, the Master's Programme in Business Law and the PhD programmes in Law. In addition, she/he will teach at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and the University of Trento.

The chair-holder is furthermore expected to contribute actively to academic administration in the framework of the University’s self-governance.

Employment Requirements

  • higher education degree from Austria or an equivalent degree from abroad, pertinent to the position;
  • habilitation or comparable qualification in at least one legal subject;
  • publications in leading academic journals, edited collections, monographs etc;
  • evidence of involvement in national and international research;
  • interdisciplinary work in the fields of technology, mobility and sustainability law;
  • very good teaching skills;
  • experience in acquiring and managing external research funds;
  • management skills.
